This is a free, self-paced reading course for DOP-C02: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional — the senior operational credential that sits at the ceiling of the AWS path alongside Solutions Architect – Professional. DOP-C02 does not test whether you can name a service. It tests whether, given a scenario with two or three defensible answers, you can pick the one that is better along the dimension the scenario actually names — blast radius, RTO, cost, rollback behavior, or operational load. This course is written to build that discrimination: it explains not just what CodeDeploy or StackSets or a composite alarm does, but when one is the wrong tool and what the better answer trades away.

The course is organized as one module per official exam domain, in the order AWS publishes them, and each module carries the domain’s published weight. That matters more on a Professional exam than on an associate one, because DOP-C02’s six domains are unusually flat — nothing is below 14%, and the heaviest domain is only 22%. There is no domain you can safely skip and no domain that will carry you. Read the whole thing in order, then use the weights to decide where a second pass earns the most. How to use it

Read a module, then take the matching portion of the DOP-C02 practice exam rather than saving all the questions until the end. On a Professional exam the useful signal is not how many you got wrong but why — whether you misread which dimension the scenario was optimizing for, or genuinely did not know the service behavior. Reading a domain and testing it immediately keeps those two failure modes separable. If you want a low-commitment look at the question style first, the free DOP-C02 sample is a short set.

Treat the modules as a map of what to go and build, not a substitute for building it. Is the DOP-C02 training course free?

Yes. The course is free to read and needs no signup or account. It is funded by the practice-exam catalog it sits alongside.

How is the course structured?

One module per official DOP-C02 domain, in AWS’s published order, each weighted to the domain’s published percentage. Because the six domains run from 14% to 22%, the modules are closer in length than on most exams — that flatness is a real feature of this blueprint, not a rounding artifact. Within each module the material is broken into short lessons, followed by key terms and further reading.

Does this replace AWS’s official training?

No. AWS publishes the authoritative DOP-C02 exam guide, along with an exam-readiness digital course and an official practice exam. Those are the source of record. This course is an independent study companion written to be read quickly and paired with practice questions — it is not an AWS training product and is not endorsed by AWS.

Do I need AWS experience before starting?

Yes, and more than for an associate exam. AWS’s stated target profile is at least two years of hands-on AWS experience in a DevOps role, plus fluency in a programming or scripting language, infrastructure as code, containers, and CI/CD tooling. This is not a first AWS certification. If you are earlier in the path, work through the SAA-C03 or SOA-C03 course first.

What should I do after finishing the course?

Move to the DOP-C02 practice exam and work until you are clearing 75% consistently across every domain rather than by leaning on SDLC Automation and Security. Because the domains are so evenly weighted, a single weak area of 14% is enough to sink an otherwise passing attempt.

Is the course current with the latest DOP-C02 blueprint?

The course is built against the DOP-C02 exam guide and the six-domain weighting AWS publishes for 2026: 22, 17, 15, 15, 14, and 17 percent.
